More life drawing, this one was 3 hours. Having trouble getting the colors right in the save files, not sure what the issue is :/ .

Black Mage Redesign Ver 2.0

Didn't like the old concept for my Black Mage redesign so I made this one :) . Played with the proportions more and tried to add better lighting and environmental effects. Still not 100% happy with it but I think its an improvement.

Red Head

Drawn from life, 2 hours in photoshop. I feel like I'm getting faster (yay!), but I'm still struggling with the same old bad habits :P .

Painting done from my friend's wedding photo :) . It really is a lot harder to draw people you know.

Edit: Eye color corrected as suggested by the painting's subject. I think it looks much better now.

Magenta

Done from life, 6 hrs. I think I'm getting faster at these but still feel like I could have pushed this one further.

I know, for a subject named Magenta I didn't use much of that color lol.

Nikita

Quick sketch, done in a little under 2 hours in photoshop. Unforunately I hadn't set up photoshop yet, so a lot of time went towards that. My first time having a ex pro-wrestler as a model :) .

I had a good vacation, but I'm back and will my best to be more productive/update more often.

Larine, Blake and Rocky

First one was done from life, of my friend that runs the life drawing sessions I go to. The life drawing model for that day didn't show up so she was nice enough to pose for us :) .

Second one is from a photo of a friend that was posted on the "Draw from what you look like" thread on conceptart.org. Both took a little over an hour each. It was kind of fun painting people I know :) .

Noticed the colors look totally off on certain monitors, unforunately I don't think theres much I can do do about it.

Done in about an hour and a half, I lost track of time which is why sections of it aren't really refined :P . Full color paintings to come soon.

First Sketch

Taking a break from 3D with a class taught by the super talented Jason Juan. I'm really excited. It seems like it'll be a photoshop class with more of a focus on traditional painting skills, which is exactly what I've been looking for. His approach seems to be the total opposite of what I've learned so far, so it should be a really interesting class :) .

Above image was a quick sketch done in Photoshop using brushes that he developed.

Art Show!

Sorry I haven't posted much, but Charles, Wes, and I are having a group art show in a couple of weeks. Its on Saturday, Sept 20th at 7:00pm. Hope to see you guys there :) .
